And while you're at it...
...check this out.

Pandora is pretty much your personal digitalized DJ.
You enter a song title or band name, and it feeds you with similar songs and bands in streaming good quality (provided you have a fast connection). Absolutely awesome!
Who needs Winamp and a ton of mp3 to clutter up hard-disc space if you can get it all like that, on a randomizer, while getting to know sweet new bands and titles AND go and order the albums via a direct interface from amazon?! Nothing like the internet...!

Mr Jackson, I want you to have my babies!
Of course I am not talking about Michael Jackson, but Peter Jackson, the kiwi director who brought you the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Obviously, I've been to the movies again, and it was time for 'King Kong'.

Oh. my. GOD!

If there ever was a great movie, it damned well is this one. Definitely among the best movies I have seen in a long time, most probably one of the best movies I have ever seen overall.
The settings, the style, the suspense, the animations ... and that giant gorilla!

I honestly don't think I can find the proper words to describe this awesome piece of filmwork. All I can really say is that out of the ~50 people that were with me in that preview last night, each and every one left the theater after the movie almost drooling and with a totally cracked-up grin on their face.

So. To make a long story short. Here goes.

GO SEE KING KONG!

Look mommy, an update!
As it has been pointed out to me that I should take better care of updating my blog every now and then, and since I'm kind of insomniac lately, I might as well give a quick update.

Not too much has happened in the few weeks since my return from London.

I've had a few minor issues with my physical well-being, most of which vanished almost as fast as they came and with the exception of my back going all cranky on me in the past couple of days, I'm alright now. Well, that is, if you don't count my futile attempts of going to bed and getting up at regular middle-European times; for some reason, I'm quite unable to fall asleep at night, something keeping me awake into the early morning hours and even with 4 different alarmclocks going off between 0930 and 1100 I just can't seem to get out of bed before noon. It's starting to wear me down and it's just plain annoying.

I've still not gotten any responses to my job applications, and I might just go back to the bike courier job, although that is one of the less desirable jobs with the current weather situation (which is, quite frankly, horrible), but hey, better a bad job with bad payment than no job and no payment, right?! Right!

My private life in regards to interaction with the planet's female population has taken another twist, when I got horribly, horribly drunk about 2 weeks ago and ended up making out with one of the bar's regular customers. She's quite cute and all ... but unfortunately, her long-time boyfriend's a regular as well. Now, to add some more trash-TV spice to it, I didn't even remember the whole thing until reading an email which she wrote to me; it slowly, and only partially, came back then, and I still don't remember the whole thing, nor details. Also, I've not seen her at the bar (or her boyfriend, for that matter), nor have I talked to her since then...

Other than that, it's all been rather slow-going and boring. When I'm not trying to find more job opportunities, I'm successfully avoiding getting my oven connected (honestly, if there's one thing that scares the living #$§x@ out of me, it's high-voltage electricity!) by playing EVE or browsing various news sites, and when I get bored of that, there's still some unfinished books to read before I might start to turn to cleaning the little warzone that could be my flat. Besides, I know I'll get it all done and cleaned up before Christmas hits, not because I'm expecting my parents to visit, but because I hate leaving home for a while with the expectation to return into a place that looks this bad.

So much for an update. More to come when there's more to tell, I'll try to keep it under 2 weeks this time... ;)

Ta-taa.
