Time to straighten up
Lately, my life's been rather ... 'disorganized', to put it the good way. Today, however, I started to change that; and since I know myself good enough, I didn't try to change it all at once for starters, but tried a new way: one step at a time.
Today's step involved:
  • shaving (and boy, that was over-due! I started to look like Mr Crusoe, I did!)
  • taking a long, hot shower (that felt even better than shaving =])
  • calling the local indoor-climbing location to get info on whether or not they want/need/take interns
  • going out to see a movie with a friend

Unfortunately, the guy responsible for internships wasn't available, so I left my number and told them I'd call again. They didn't call back, so I'll call again tomorrow.
It feels good to start getting a grip on my life again. This week's overall goal is to re-gain a bio-rhythm that can be considered "normal", which includes getting up no later than 0900 and going to bed no later than 0100. I failed today, but that was mainly due to crappy bus schedules that delayed my arrival back home by almost an hour and a half. (Poor excuse, I know.)
Also, I decided to cut back on the time I spend playing EVE Online, since that is one of the things that's making me so lethargic. I've been sitting in front of that game way too much in the past 2-3 weeks, and it's been doing me no good.

This all said, I'll now embrace my cozy bed. ;]

On your right hand, you can now see...
...an almost fully healed index finger that looked really ugly just 10 days ago. I love my healing rate, and if it's only for the astonished looks I get for it from the docs. Seems like I'm not even going to keep a real scar. Too bad, I love scars... ;)
Anyways, thought I'd give a short update on my well-being.

Also, I'll apply for an internship at a local indoor-climbing site, which actually is said to be the largest indoor-climbing site in Europe. Woohoo! \o/
Last time I talked to them (already a couple of months ago) they told me they'd usually be looking for people to do internships and work there afterwards. So this might just work out fine.
It'll also mean I finally have something to do with all that spare time I currently have on my hands due to hardly any activity in regards to my university "progress". Oh, and of course it hopefully means I'll earn some money, so I might just be able to go visit some people again (hey there Annie).

Peace. Out.

PS: Go see Sin City. It incorporates the stories "Sin City", "The Big Fat Kill", "That Yellow Bastard" and the very short story of "The Customer Is Always Right". It's worth every penny, just don't expect to be shown any Spider-Man/X-Men related comicbook-turned-movie.

Computer's cutting edge
Tonight, I decided to salvage the remains of the data left on my damaged 120GB HDD before going to bed early (before midnight, that was supposed to be).
It all worked out nicely, I got all the stuff I really wanted transferred to another HDD; and then I remembered that I still had that card-reader lying around somewhere which I wanted to build into the machine at some point, so why not right now while it was all open?! Right.
Enter: Murphy
Just when I had removed a small metal plate so I could put the reader in and tried to lift up the case, the damn thing slipped out of my hands and only kept hanging onto one finger. Unfortunately, it hung onto it with probably the sharpest part, namely the slot where I had just removed the metal plate. Since I had already lifted the case up to almost desk height, I couldn't just let it drop, so instead, I slowly (sort of, at least) lowered it back to the ground. By the time it got back down, the damn metal slot had cut nicely into my right index finger, leaving one hell of a lot of blood being spilt all over the front of my PC case. (It really looked rather cool, I should've made a pic or left it that way, was some nice decoration...)
Now, after having been to the local clinic and being told that it can't be properly sewn because the cut is too wide, I now feature a rather disabling bandage around my right index finger, which is making mouse-clicks a pain and typing almost impossible without having to delete lots of additional letters caused by the bandage.
I guess I won't be playing too much computer games in the next few weeks, swimming is a no-go too - and unfortunately, even my job in the pub is affected. I'll have to work something out with my boss, since I really need that money and can't afford losing 2-3 weeks' payments...

But for now, I'll call it a day and get to bed. *poof*
